Southeast Health Group to host Open House & Movie Saturday October 12th

The community is invited to Southeast Health Group’s Open House on Saturday, October 12th, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at 189 East 9th Avenue in Springfield. Learn about the services offered right in your home town! Also, pick up free movie passes and enjoy refreshments.

As a sponsor of the “Walk Out of Darkness” event held the same day, SHG is showcasing its mental health and substance use treatment services in Springfield. SHG is also sponsoring a family friendly inspirational movie the evening of the 12th at the Capitol Theatre.

“We have become more involved in the Springfield community over the past two years,” said JC Carrica, CEO of Southeast Health Group. “We now have a full-time presence, with additional crisis services offered around the clock.”

Mary Holcomb is the full-time customer service representative, staffing the office from 8:00-5:00, Monday through Friday. Anyone can walk in for an intake on Thursdays, with no appointment necessary. The counseling staff includes mental health tele-therapist Debbie Gillespie, youth and family therapist Kimberly Snyder, and substance use counselor Connie Brase. Health navigation and peer support services are also available.

The new building has a wellness area, with workout equipment that is available to clients at no charge. Community members can buy a workout pass for $25 a month.

In the coming months, SHG will implement its new mobile clinic, which will offer medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorders. A new full-time clinic will also be added in Eads. The regional assessment center in La Junta, which opened over a year ago, has been an asset to the region, offering 24/7 withdrawal management for people who are both intoxicated and suicidal.

Office at 189 East 9th Ave in Springfield, Colorado.

“We work hard to respond to the unique needs in each of our communities,” said Carrica. “It truly takes a village—all of us working together—to identify and support people who are hurting.”

The project was partially funded by a grant from the Colorado Health Access Fund of the Denver Foundation. For more information about services offered by Southeast Health Group, call 800-511-5446, or visit us online at www.southeasthealthgroup.org.
